Basically, the product description is a marketing copy that should provide the details regarding its features, functionalities, and how it would help the potential customers by using the product. An appealing product description would help to convert a product page visit into sales.
Product short description
This is also a field to describe more details about the product in a few words or sentences. Or, you can also use this option to add an excerpt of the product functionality. Many WooCommerce stores display the short description along with product description.

Editing the description and short description of a single product is quite easy as you can directly go to the product page dashboard and edit both descriptions there. Check the screenshot below:

For that, you need to subscribe, install, and activate the plugin in your WooCommerce store. To know more about the procedure, check out the product documentation I have mentioned above.
Then, go to WordPress Dashboard > WooCommerce > Bulk Edit Products.
Or, go to WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Installed Plugins > ELEX Bulk Edit Products, Prices & Attributes for WooCommerce > Bulk Edit Products.
The first step is to filter the products, which need to be bulk edited. This needs to be done very carefully, as a small change on unnecessary products would affect your entire WooCommerce store. And, you need to include all required products as well.
Here, for demonstrating an example, I am filtering the products based on the description and short description. You can add additional filters according to your requirements.

According to this example, I need to bulk edit the products’ descriptions, which have a description that starts with the term ‘Pellentesque’ and a short description that contains the term ‘le.
There are 4 conditions you can choose from the drop-down list to filter the products based on the description and short description. They are Starts with, Ends with, Contains, or Regex match with the text expression you have entered.
Now, click the Preview Filtered Products button. You will be redirected to a page in which all filtered products will be listed, where you can remove certain products if required.
After checking the list of products, you can click the Continue button.
Here, you can bulk edit the product attributes according to your needs. Check the screenshot below:
You can edit any product attribute. But, for the demonstration purpose, I am taking product description and short description here.
For both attributes, there are 3 edits you can do. They are Append, Prepend, and Set new.
Append: You can add a text after the description or the short description.
Prepend: You can add a text before the description or the short description.
Set new: You can set a new description or short description.
As per the above example, the term ‘Hello’ will be appended to the product description. And the term ‘Short description:’ will be prepended with the products’ short description.
After adding all required edits, click the Continue button.
In the next step, you can execute the bulk edit immediately by entering a name and, enabling to create a log file and save it as a job. Also, you can enable the option to make the Undo option available.
You can also schedule a date and time to execute the bulk edit and revert the last change to previous values.
After setting up the required details, click Finish.
After processing the update, a tab will be opened as in the screenshot below:
You can click Continue or click Undo if you need to change any updates.
