How to manage scheduled tasks in the Jobs tab of WooCommerce Bulk Edit Plugin?
This article will help you understand how to manage the scheduled tasks, which are present under the Jobs tab of ELEX WooCommerce Advanced Bulk Edit Products, Prices & Attributes.
The main advantage of this managed scheduled tasks will be if you have to edit, cancel, delete, revert or download the log file of the tasks, which have been scheduled by you already.
So basically, there are 7 actions which you can perform under the Jobs tab for scheduled tasks and they are as follows:
- Edit
- Copy
- Run Now
- Revert Now
- Delete
- Cancel Schedule
- Log File
Let us discuss each action with an appropriate example.
Edit
Through this action, we can edit any scheduled tasks. For example, if we want to edit the name of a scheduled task, click the Edit action, and go to the Scheduled tab, and enter the name of the job in the Enter name (optional) field.
Copy
Through this action, you can create a copy of an already created task.
For example, if you want to create a copy of the task, you can click on Copy, make any changes if you wish to, in that copied task or else you can save the copied task. It will be saved as a copy.
Run Now
Through this action, you can perform the bulk update quickly by running it as per your requirement manually.
If you click Ok in the below alert box, it runs that scheduled task quickly.
Revert Now
This option is nothing but Undo. If you want to undo the scheduled task then you can choose this option.
Note – This action works only on immediate jobs and not on scheduled tasks. For example, if you want to undo the below-scheduled task then you can click the Revert Now action and the changes will be reverted.
Note – If you check in the above screenshot, scheduled tasks do not have an option to revert as we mentioned earlier. So once you revert any scheduled task, it will give you an alert as shown below.
Delete
Through this action, you can delete any particular scheduled task.
Note – Deleting a scheduled task does not mean that it will delete the functionality of that task. It just deletes the job from the scheduled tasks list. For example, if you want to delete job_242 from the below-scheduled tasks list then you can do so by clicking the Delete button.
If you click Ok in the below alert box, it deletes that particular task quickly.
After the delete action, you will not see the deleted job in the above list as shown below.
Cancel Schedule
Through this action, you can cancel a scheduled task quickly.
Note – Cancel Schedule action can be applied only on the scheduled tasks and not immediate tasks.
If you click the Cancel Schedule button, it will cancel the scheduled task immediately.
If you check the above screenshot, job_241 was an immediate task and not a scheduled task so the Cancel Schedule button appears disabled. So we have cancelled the above job_243 and after cancelling the task, it will look like the below screenshot.
Log File
Through this action, you can download the log file of any particular task.
You can click the LogFile button and it downloads the file. Please refer to the below a Log File example.
