ELEX Stamps.com Plugin – Box Packing in the Basic Version

Customer :

I am using your basic plugin and looking to upgrade to your PRO version to get the additional benefits. In the basic version (and also in the pro version), it mistakenly offers first class mail for a cart weight over 16 oz… That is not something that can be done with the post office. Is that a feature that can be corrected so we are not having to go back to the customer and fix the shipping charges?

Does that shipping class presume that we are shipping each item separately with individual postage? That seems like a very unlikely way to ship and not something that I as a customer would be looking for. I don’t want three individually packaged bars of soap. I want all 3 of my soaps packaged and shipped together..

Support :

The Basic Version of the plugin are designed for small business owners or when you have only one item in the cart, \

The reason why First class mail appears for cart over 16oz, because as you are using the basic version of the plugin, it packs every item individually, hence it is considering the weight of individual item while returning the service and hence the First class mail is shown to.

Hence, we would suggest you upgrade to the Pro version of our plugin as it offers parcel packing options that allow packing multiple items together.( on the basis of product dimension and weight)

The pro version offers the following parcel packing option:

* Pack into boxes with weight and dimension

If packing items individually do not suit to your business, then you can define required box sizes under Box Dimensions section. All the cart items are packed into custom boxes defined in Box Dimensions settings. The best fit box is auto chosen from the defined boxes. This is the recommended option. You can read through setting up box dimensions to understand more in detail.

Weight based shipping.

In this option, the weight of all the cart item is summed up and passed to UPS API to get rates.
