How to Customize Australia Post Shipping Labels using ELEX WooCommerce Australia Post Shipping Plugin? (with Video)

Although you can access real-time rates with a non-contracted account, the plugin offers the label generation feature only with a contracted eParcel or StarTrack account. Hence you need to register for the respective shipping service to generate Australia Post shipping labels.

a. Enabling shipping label generation

Go to WooCommerce > Shipping > Australia Post > General settings.

Configure the below settings:

  • Tick the Contracted Account checkbox to reveal further settings, where you need to enter your API password and Account Number. If you are using StarTrack account, tick the I have StarTrack Account checkbox and enter the API credentials respectively.
  • Next, tick the Enable Shipping Label (Contracted) checkbox to enable label generation.
  • You need to enter the shipper address, as this will be used for calculating real-time rates and will also be printed on the shipping label.

Save the settings and move to the Label & Tracking tab.

b. Customizing shipping labels

Although there are various other label settings in the plugin, we will discuss three settings that are specific to customizing the shipping label. To understand the complete label settings, read the Label & Tracking section of the product documentation.

1. Showing Australia Post logo

You can choose to show Australia Post logo on the eParcel label by enabling the respective settings as shown in the below screenshot.

Once this setting is enabled, the store admin will also get this option in the individual WooCommerce orders page. The admin can choose to show or hide the Australia Post logo on the label. The said setting is as shown in the screenshot below.

2. Selecting the label layout

The plugin provides the following layouts for eParcel and StarTrack labels –

3. Custom shipment description

The label content will be returned by Australia Post itself, you can add desired shipment description to the label. This shipment description is usually used for Customs purposes.

Below is a screenshot of a sample Australia Post eParcel label generated using ELEX WooCommerce Australia Post Shipping Plugin.

In the above image, the label layout is Express Post A4-3pp, hence the shipping label will take 1/3rd part of the A4 paper. You can also notice the Australia Post logo, sender address and the custom shipment content that were configured in the plugin settings.

In addition to this, if Signature on Delivery (SoD) service is not enabled in the plugin settings, the label will show the information on the label. If SoD is disabled and/or Authority to Leave service is enabled, the label will simply leave the box blank for the signature.
