How to set a minimum price for WooCommerce Name Your Own Price?
Yet another concern that arises in any store owner’s mind is how to let your customers choose a price for your products and at the same time not incur any losses. To solve this problem, we have a very simple option here using the plugin. When you let your customers enter their own price on your product, using the plugin you can set the minimum threshold price for products. Upon which, whenever a customer enters a price way below the minimum price mentioned, they will be prompted to change the price to an amount that is equivalent to or greater than the minimum price mentioned.
Let’s take a look at how to set the same for all products as well as on individual products on your WooCommerce store.
Setting a minimum price for all products using WooCommerce Name Your Own Price
Once you install the plugin, you can see the plugin settings as shown in the image below :
Here when you enable the option Product Min Price, you allow your customers to enter a price of their choice for your products. When you want to set the minimum price as a threshold value, you need to set the plugin in the way as shown in the image below.
Here in the image above, the minimum price is set at $20 for all the products in your store. As per the settings provided in the above image, the setting is applicable globally on your store. You can see the settings on your store as shown in the image below.
Hence when a customer enters a price which is less than the minimum price mentioned here, for example, $15, they will be prompted with a message to enter the minimum price to proceed with the purchase as shown in the image below.
If the price entered is greater than or equal to the minimum price mentioned, then the price will be taken as $20 by default
Set Minimum price at the product level using WooCommerce Name Your Own Price
Using the plugin, you can set the minimum price at the product level easily. After the plugin is installed, when you go to individual product settings, you can find the Name Your Price settings for the product as shown in the image below.
Here also you can enter a minimum price as a threshold limit for your individual products if you do not want to globally set the same for your products. The rest of the products will be eligible for the minimum price if the plugin settings are done globally.
You can also set the minimum price for your variable products. In the product variations, you can see that there is an option to set the minimum price for each variation individually.
Look at the image below, it clearly shows how to set the minimum price for each product variation.
Once done, the variations will display their individual minimum price set in the product settings. For example, we took 2 variations Black and Green here. For Black, we have entered $10 and for Green, $9 respectively. You can also set the label, description, and hide price options separately as per your need.
Once done, the variations will look like these as shown in the image below :
The black variation will show $10 as the minimum price. The Green will show $9 as minimum price as shown in the image below :
