Frequently Asked Questions : WooCommerce DHL Shipping

Q1: I will like to be able to apply our existing account discount to purchases made via our WooCommerce store. Is this possible?

Ans: Yes, you will be able to get existing account rates using our plugin.

Q2: Does this plugin display real-time rates directly from DHL on the Checkout page?

Ans: Yes, our plugin displays real-time rates from DHL on checkout.

Q3: Do I need to register for anything specifically with DHL or is my existing export account not enough to set it up?

Ans: You need to contact xmlrequests@dhl.com along with your full Account details like account number, region, address, etc. to get API Access.

Q4: Does this plugin work in all countries?

Ans: Ideally, it should work across the globe for DHL Express Service. Kindly check the demo site with your account details.

Q5: Is it possible to use own rates for customers and use the plugin only for the label-printing part?

Ans: Yes, it is absolutely possible to use this plugin only for the label-printing part.

You can also use any WooCommerce Table rate plugin for creating own rates for customers.

Q6: Is there any possibility to test the connection to DHL in sandbox/test mode?

Ans: Yes, you can uncheck the ‘Production Key’ option in the settings.

Q7: The plugin uses Inches and Pounds measurements, but my store is in cm and kg. Do I need to enter my store items in lbs and in?

Ans: You can configure the Product dimensions and weight in any unit. The Plugin will automatically convert it to ‘lbs’ and ‘in’ for processing with DHL.

Q8: I’m getting a message that “No valid plugins were found. Plugin install failed.”

Ans: You need to unpack the zip file received and install the plugin zip, which is available inside the zip file.

Q9: After the setup, my site is still saying “There doesn‘t seem to be any available shipping methods.”

Ans: You can enable debug in settings and debug messages will start showing up on the Cart/Checkout page, from which you will get a clue of what the issue is all about.
Hope DHL shipping method is enabled, and product dimensions and weight is configured correctly.

Q10: The plugin does not calculate shipping rates for more than 99 items, why?

Ans: DHL, by default, has a maximum limitation of 99 items to be included in a single package. If an order has more than 99 items, it will be packed in two different packages. Hence, to access shipping rates, you need to configure the plugin in such a way that less than 99 items have to be placed in the single box at a time. You can apply this setup in weight-based packing as well.
